Guided tour in German (60 minutes)
The exhibition shows the positions of Jewish women designers within the emancipation and modernization processes of German society in the early 20th century - as women, Jews and artists.
A beaded bag, a seat cushion, a marionette, a hat - around 300 exhibits reveal the artistic and entrepreneurial achievements of over 60 female designers in their time. The tour presents examples of the courage and strength with which these pioneering women fought for outstanding positions in their respective fields, until the National Socialist regime destroyed their careers and lives.
