Public guided tour in German (60 minutes)
The exhibition Claude Lanzmann. The Recordings brings history to life. The Lanzmann collection is being made available to the public for the first time. The previously unknown audio cassettes document numerous conversations that Lanzmann and his assistants had with Holocaust survivors, perpetrators and third parties in the 1970s. These recordings were made during research for the film Shoah (1985). The collection was donated to the JMB and added to the UNESCO Memory of the World Register in 2023. The guided tour provides insights into Lanzmann's research project and addresses the special challenges of exhibiting audio objects.
